Meet Christian

Christian Charette is a twenty-year-old public library employee, election worker, and part-time college student from Livonia, Michigan.  He has lived in the Livonia community for over fourteen years, and as a K-12 student, was enrolled in Livonia Public Schools.  Christian has a diverse educational background, experiencing private, public, and special education; the latter of which inspired his advocacy for students with disabilities.  After enduring a once-in-a-century pandemic and a state-wide lockdown, he received his diploma from Churchill High School in 2021.  He currently attends Schoolcraft College where he is working towards his degree in Political Science.

Christian is a genuine people-person who is known for forming deep connections with individuals from all walks of life, making them feel heard and valued.  Over the years, he has organized several small fundraisers benefiting the Michigan Humane Society and the ASPCA.  He is a proud member of The Fellowship and has volunteered at local church events as well as the Northville Lighted Parade, where he prepared food and beverages for attendees. Christian’s emphasis in this campaign is that he is NOT a politician.  Where he lacks political experience, he compensates with a deep understanding of his community’s needs, a strong sense of ethics, and a commitment to serving others before himself.  His approach is rooted in a genuine desire to bring about positive change and to usher in a new era of accountable and responsive government… A government truly made of the People, by the People, and for the People.  Not bureaucrats.

Like many in District 22 and beyond, Christian is deeply disheartened with the ongoing challenges Michigan continues to face.  Indeed, these things do not simply happen overnight, and what Michiganders are feeling is an accumulation of years of frustration, being left in the dark, and remaining unheard by the leaders they elected to represent their interests. If elected to serve as your next State Representative, Christian pledges to be a relentless advocate for the issues that matter most to you.  He is fully committed to promoting common sense policies that secure the well being of our communities; not just for the present, but for the years and generations to come.
