July 30, 2023 —Today, we are reminded of the dark and often overlooked horrors that make up the practice of human trafficking. — Globally, it is estimated that there are between 27 and 49 MILLION modern-day slaves at any given moment; many of which are vulnerable children, young women & girls, and immigrants who are seen as 'useful' for intense and often unpaid labor.

For a heinous abuse of human rights and dignity, human trafficking continues to receive a disproportionate lack of coverage in our media. Make no mistake: this remains a very real, and increasingly dire struggle; one that has unfortunately become politically charged over the years.

For me, the answer is quite simple: This isn't a Democrat vs. Republican issue. This isn't a Left vs. Right issue. This is a humanitarian issue, one that REQUIRES us to work together if we hope to end it once and for all.
